Hello!  So it has been 4 weeks since I've been on here!  Wow!  How time flies!  School is in full swing and keeping me super busy!  I have barely had anytime to scrap or sew or anything!  I'm ready for a slow down!  I did get to my friend Kim's house and did some cute Halloween crafting!  I will post those next week!

This week I have 2 layouts to show!  My precious cousin and precious niece's birthdays are in September.  I had to spotlight them in honor!

Patterned paper from hobby lobby. cardstock from DCWV.  Buttons from walmart. Cartridge songbird for title.

background and title cardstock DCWV,  patterned paper from DCWV. Ribbon from scrapbook convention. Flowers and rhinestones from Queen and Co.
2 fun layouts for 2 fun people in my life!  Love them!  Thanks for taking the time to look!

It ends...

Well this week officially ended my summer break.  We were busy working in our classrooms and in meetings all week.  Loved working in the classroom, but not a fan of the meetings.  Sometimes I think they just make stuff up for us to do.  Oh well, that part is done and the kids come in Monday!  I met a lot of my students last night at our meet the teacher night.  They seem excited for school to start and I am anxious to get them in my room!

I have spent most of my crafting time doing things in my classroom, so I am ready for the dust to settle so I can get back to my crafting for me!  I thought I would post a couple of pics of my room so you can see what I worked on!  I did change the desk arrangement at the end, but pretty much it all looks the same!

I crafted the cute Kayaks on my desk and printed out some inspirational sayings to put on the wall behind my desk. I did they Kayaks using my cricut and Just Because cartridge.  The sayings were printed and cut using my Imagine and Word of Mouth Imagine cartridge.

I sewed my own crate covers using a pattern from Pinterest. They turned out so cute!!!!!!!! I cut the checkers title out using vinyl and Cuttin Up cartridge and my cricut.  I covered my clipboards using paper, modpodge and duct tape.
I really am excited how my room turned out this year!  I learned a lot from Pinterest and used a lot of it my room.  If you have not joined Pinterest, you should!  It is the mecca of all crafting things!  It has inspired my classroom, inspired me to learn sewing, given me tons of ideas to scrap and card make and it just a great place to learn new things!

Hope you enjoyed this post.  It's a little different than normal....but you get a glimpse into my other world!  Thanks for for looking!

It's been a couple of weeks....

Well it's been a couple of weeks since I updated.  It is that time of year again...the start of school!  I have been busy getting my classroom ready and teaching our new teachers in our district about the math curriculum we are using this year.  Those things have totally ended my summer, but it is official Monday.  Teachers start back up.  I am having mixed emotions.  I love staying at home.  I do not get bored!  I scrap, I clean, I craft.  I keep myself busy and I love it!  Even my husband loves it when I am home (why can't I stay home you say?  Well, money for one and we don't have kids so it seems kind of silly to not work.)  On the other hand, I do love teaching.  I love the planning, the prepping and the kids faces as they learn what I planned and prepped and having fun with it to boot!  I think what I hate though is the getting up at the butt crack of dawn!  I am a sleeper, always have been, and I will miss not staying in bed till 9 (ok, maybe 10).

I do have a Cricut machine update....my Imagine is fixed!  I had to be on with Technical Support for 4 days though!  The man was really nice though, and did everything he could to make sure I was a happy customer!  We had to do a screen share and he had to do a force upload/update to my machine.  Not sure what I will have to do if I have to update it again!  He also got me digital access for my cartridges so I can use them on the Cricut Craft room!  Yay!  I have used it, and I love it!  It is like having my Gypsy, but on my laptop.  I love the portability of the Gypsy though, so if they go on a huge sale I will probably buy a new one.  But I am talking a cheap sale!!!!

I wanted to give you a little scrapping pic today too.  Not just be complaining!  I used this on a layout for a birthday.  I loved how it turned out!  I will be honest though...I forgot which cartridge I used!
Cartridge:  unknown.  Blue and yellow cardstock.  Rhinestones from dollar bin at Joann's. Flower : unknown. Patterned paper from DCWV.

Thanks for taking the time to look today!  With school starting, I may get a little behind on blogging, but it is my goal to not to do that!  We will see how long it lasts!  Happy Scrapping!

Could it get worse?

Last week I talked about my Gypsy breaking.  Well....if it couldn't get any worse....my Imagine broke too!  I am beyond devastated and upset!  I love, love, love my Imagine!  I have been on the phone with Provo Craft, gotten a forced upgrade to my machine, and it still won't work.  Something about the ink cartridges.  So, Provo Craft is sending me new cartridges and if that doesn't fix it, well I get a replacement since that is still under warranty.  Thank goodness!!!!  I did get a little good news though....last week I talked about having to send off my cartridges, well, I won't have to do that now.  They granted me digital access to my carts so I can use them on Cricut Craft Room since I have had so much trouble this week!  That made me feel a little better.  Luckily I still have my old machine, so I used that to finally finish the 2011 book!  I am so glad that is done!  Now I can focus on this year!

I decided to post a card I made in honor of no Imagine.  I made this card for my husband on our anniversary.
Brown cardstock for card.  Red cardstock for mat.  Yellow cardstock embossed with Sizzix Texture Boutique,  Owls and text stamped with Stamps of Life stamp set and red stamp pad.  Twine from Queen and Co. and heart brad from eyelet outlet.

I really enjoyed making this card and my husband loved it!  He thought the Owls were too cute!  I love a simple card!  And embossing definitely adds something to this card doesn't it?

I hope you enjoyed the card.  I'll let you know what the Imagine outcome is.....again, I am just devastated!  Hopefully your week has been better than mine!  Thanks for looking!

Paris?

Today I come to you from Paris....well....I wish Paris!  No, just me in Texas still.  But I live vicariously through my sister though!  Last summer she got the opportunity to go to France for a festival with her Bassoon playing.  She had these 2 great photos of her in a really cute dress she bought in France.  I added her postcard she sent us and had to do a layout of it!

Brown cardstock.  Journey/Eiffel tower design, Imagine More Cart for the Cricut Imagine, light brown cardstock for matting photos, Eiffel tower brads from eyelet outlet.
I did have a little snafu this week though and I am truly devastated!  My Gypsy (which is a software device for Cricut machines) broke.  The USB port came out and I can no longer use it to cut with.  I called Provo Craft and there is nothing they can really do except allow me to buy a new one and then ship it back to them with the old one to switch over my cartridges since they are connected to the broken machine.  I however, am not going this route.  I am getting my Carts flashed and re-serialized so I can use them on the Cricut Craft Room instead.  We will see how this journey goes.  I must admit, I am not too pleased with Provo Craft at this moment.  They were nice on the phone, and were understanding, but hey, they have to make money right?  We'll see how I feel about them once I get all this cartridge thing sorted out.  Stay tuned....

I hope you did enjoy the layout.  I will still say I love my machine, but it is technology.  As one of my students said one year, "Technology is awesome....when it works!"  Thanks for looking and listening!

Harry Potter!

If you know me well, I love, love, love Harry Potter!  I re-read the books all the time and I love the movies.  I keep up with J.K. Rowling, and in fact her new book comes out in September.  I am excited about it!  It is an adult book, and has nothing to do with Harry Potter, but I'm sure I will still like it!  She has a "prequel" to Harry Potter available for e-readers right now.  I may have to check that out!

This layout was to scrap the last Harry Potter movie that came out last summer.  A bunch of us headed to the theater to watch part 1 and then part 2 at midnight.  We always have a blast and it is so neat to see people come out in costumes!

Black cardstock from Hobby Lobby for background.  Letter pattern paper from Black and White stack, DCWV.  Harry Potter title was created by EZ Laser Designs (got at convention).  Note card from Fancy Pants Design.  Gemstones from EK Success.
Hope you enjoyed this fun layout.  I also hope you are enjoying your summer.  I have 39 days left till students are in my classroom!  Oh my!  I better enjoy these days off!!!!  Thanks for looking!

7-11

Today is July 11th, or 7-11 day!  If you haven't already, go into a 7-11 and get your free slurpee!  I made this layout from last year's free slurpee day!  I love scrapping the everyday things sometimes.  They are fun to look back on!

Pattern Paper from Michaels.  Blue cardstock used for titles.  Cupcake Cartridge.  The flowers were Close to my heart except the purple one.  I got that one at scrapbook convention at the dollar store.  Brads used to keep flowers together.  Blue twine from Close to my Heart.
I hope you enjoyed the layout.  I love using fun paper for my backgrounds.  It's easy and always looks great!  Now go out and get your free slurpee!  I am!

4th of July Fireworks!

I just love the 4th of July!  Fun times with fireworks, sitting outside for a picnic or BBQ, having fun with family....things that are just great!  We love shooting off fireworks!  This past year we were in a bad drought, so there was a fire ban.  We just stuck with smoke bombs and sparklers mainly.  This was the layout I decided to use to display the fun we had!

Red background paper is Tammi Potter Mosaics.  Patterned Paper is Scenic Route.  Embellishment is  Queen and Co.  Title is Stand and Salute Cart.

I know I used the Tammi Potter paper in the last post, but her papers really are cool.  I love getting this tiled look!  I use it mainly for 4th of July, but have also used it for flowers at the Botanical Gardens and Mountain Scenes in Colorado.  There is a lot you can do with these pages if you have the patience!  Once you get going though, they are a snap to get done and look amazing when they are finished!

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a safe and fun 4th!

The 4th is coming up!

Hello!!!!  I hope you are having a great week!  It will be 4th of July before we know it, so I thought I would post a layout from last year's 4th of July fun!  We usually go to my hubby's parents for a party, and this past year was no exception!  We spent some time on an ATV first!

Paper used:  Scenic Route for pattern paper and white cardstock.  Blue paper and wavy stars and USA and 2001 were from Tami Potter Mosaic Moments.  Stickers were from Hobby Lobby.  Title:  Cupcake Cartridge.
The Mosaic Moments are so fun to and easy to use!  Check out their website tamipotter.com.  I love the block look and the paper has guides on it to show you where to tape the pics down, plus there is a bookmark that I used to tell me what dimensions the photos had to be to fit exactly.

Hope you enjoyed this layout and I hope it gave you some ideas to use for your 4th of July pics!  See ya next week!!!!

S'mores Layout

Hello!  I know I promised to update last week, but I was too busy getting ready for my retreat I went to!  We went to Hobby House Hill in Bowie, TX and I love it!!!!  So relaxing and I got so much done!  I went with some friends from church and my Mom came as well!  Love it when I can crop with my Mom!  I was very productive.  85 pages done and got to Christmas of 2011.  As soon as I finish Christmas, I will be done with 2011 and ready to start 2012!  Yay!

I thought I would share a layout I did of my family reunion from last year.  We had a great time in Colorado and spent our last night together hanging by the campfire eating S'mores.

I used paper from Scenic Route and Cosmo Cricket for the pattern paper and fun s'more guy.  I mad the S'mores myself using George Cart and brown ink pad around the edges.  The title was made using Cuttin up Cart.  I also used cream, red and beige cardstock.

I plan on adding some pictures from my retreat last week to my post next week!  Hope you stop and and look and thanks for looking today!

Ahhhhhh....Summer!

Okay, so it has been a month.  I am super bad.  But May was super crazy and I am surprised I am still standing!  The summer has arrived and I plan to update each week!  Seriously....each week.  I have it on my to do list for Wednesdays....seriously.

I have a layout to show you that I did back in April.  This was of my nieces at our community pool.  I love how beachy it turned out!

Water patterned paper used for background.  Summer theme paper used for strips.  Both from DCWV Summer stack.  Circle paper bought at Scrapbook Convention.  Flowers and rhinestones from Queen and Company.  Pink and blue cardstock for title and matting.  Holy Cow from Cuttin Up Cart for Title.  Journal title:  Imagine More Cart.
To start my summer off right, I did go to the Scrapbook Convention this year!  I persuaded my Principal to let me out early on Friday and then shopped the day away!  Here is my loot!!!!!

I am so excited about all my new stuff and can not wait to use it up!!!!!!  I even got to meet Stephanie Barnard from Stamps of Life.  It was like meeting a celebrity because I watch her videos all the time!  If you haven't by her site, you need to go there!  I love her stamps!  http://www.stephaniebarnardstamps.com/index.htm

Well, that is all for now.  I need to get busy cleaning and scrapping!  See you next week!  Thanks for looking!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day! {and Cinco De Mayo!}

Hello!  I hope you have enjoyed National Scrapbooking Day and Cinco De Mayo!  Two of my favorite celebrations!  I went out with friends last night to enjoy some Mexican food and then went to another friend's house to crop!  Today I finished some Mother's Day cards and 2 layouts!  And tonight....more Mexican food celebration, but with the hubby this time!

As promised last week, here is another layout I did in April.  I am still working on my 2011 album, so these were a couple of things from April and May of last year.

I used blue cardstock for the background and red cardstock for the circled journals.  I added paper from Scenic Route and Cosmo Cricket.  I created the Blast and rocket using my Cricut Imagine-Imagine More Cards Cartridge and Garden using Cuttin Up Cartridge.

Hope you enjoyed the post!  And I really hope you have accomplished some Scrapping and eating tons of Mexican food today!  Enjoy!

Oh my!!!

I can not believe I have not been on here since April 1st!  I am slacking off!  Actually, it has been an extremely busy month, but that is no excuse!!!

I have been scrapping I promise!  I have made a goal for myself to do at least 1 layout per week until school is out.  Once I am on summer vacay, I plan on revamping the goal!  I created this layout a couple of weeks ago.  I also made a goal to use the supplies I have, not buy new stuff!  I've done pretty good!  I haven't bought new stuff since February!  That is amazing for me!
I used some paper from Cosmo Cricket, Scenic Route and some paper I bought at Scrapbook Convention for this layout.  I also used a purple cardstock for background.  The title was made using my Imagine ( I LOVE MY IMAGINE!!!!!)  The journal tag was from fancypantsdesigns.

I hope you enjoyed this layout!  Since this is the last full week of April, I did meet my goal!  I got 4 layouts done this month!  I will show some others next week!  Thanks for looking!

I used blue cardstock and added the image created using my Imagine using the Imagine More Cards cart. Added some pink twine and 2 cards done!

I know these are simple, but they were fun to make and any card handmade is always better than a regular card, correct? I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for looking!

2 more cards

As promised, here a couple of other cards I did during spring Break. They were simple to make using my Imagine! I love that machine!

I used a basic navy color cardstock and printed the Happy Birthday image from Imagine More Cards Cart on white cardstock. I attached it to the card using foam squares to pop it up and added some yellow twine.

I really like this card! I used sea blue cardstock for the card and added orange scrap paper I had lying around for some more color. I printed the rocket and blast image using Imagine More Cards Cart on white cardstock. Added some sea blue twine and I was done! I may add a orange button to jazz it up a bit, what do you think?

These cards really were easy to make, but are so cute! Using the Imagine really saves me some time! Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for looking!

Boo.....

Sadly....my Spring Break has come to an end! I have a love/hate relationship with Spring Break. I love it because it is what it says, a break! I get to rest and rejuvenate before having to go back to school for the long haul of the rest of the year! I hate it because it gives me a little taste of summer and I want it to be here! I feel like I wish my life away these last few months of school!

I did get tons done this break though! I finished my Colorado Scrapbook (yay!!!) and I played with my Imagine. I really feel more confident using the printer part now, not just the cutting. And I have fell in love with that machine! It is so versatile and I can get way more creative with it!

I did make a few cards...I have a lot of Birthdays coming up this Spring, so I tried to get ahead! I made some super simple cards....my goal was cute, but easy, so I could get a lot done!

I used my Imagine to create this card. I printed the label using Imagine More Cards Cart on white cardstock, used pop up foam stickers to glue it down, added some cute orange twine and a few rhinestones to jazz it up. Put it all on blue cardstock and voila! Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy! Done!

I made several of these cards and will showcase them in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for looking!

Spring Break!!!!!

It is Spring Break people! Yay!!!! I love this time of year! Time off from school, starting to wind down, getting ready for summer! Spring Break always gives me a taste of summer and gets me ready to finish out the year strong!

Since I am on Spring Break, I am doing a lot of crafting! I thought I would take this time to really play with my Imagine. I love it! I made this adorable sign for our mantle to welcome Spring!

I used my Imagine print and cut capability to make this! The image came from Imagine More Cards Cart. I set it to full page and hit cut. Out this came! I just put in white cardstock! I added a grommet and ribbon to hang it from the mantle! So easy and so cute!!!!

Hope you enjoyed this post! I have many cards to show you as well! So stay tuned!

Last of the retreat pics!

This is my last post of the retreat layouts that I did! I promised I got more done, these were just my favorites!

This layout is of my sister who turns out, is a really good roller skater! I loved how this turned out!

Patterned paper is from 2 different stacks. The striped paper is a city stack from DCWV and the polka dotted is from Hobby Lobby travel stack. The roller skates were made using Nifty Fifties cart and cardstock. The title was cut using Hannah Montana cart and cardstock. I added a button for flair.

I love putting stripes and polka dots together....they work so well! I hope you enjoyed this layout!

Retreat Layouts-yes more...

Hello! I am still posting pics from my retreat....I just had the best time and got so much done!

One of my favorite things from the retreat is challenges! Our fearless leader and my dear friend AnnMarie comes up with challenges for us to do during the retreat to make it more interesting. For me, it totally gets me revved up and highly motivated!

This layout was one I did to complete the challenge. You can see the page idea on the right and my layout on the left. It doesn't look like it exactly, but I did use it for my inspiration!

I used paper from the Hobby Lobby, it was a cowboy pack, for my background and middle section. I used just regular brown and red cardstock for the title. I cut the rope using Toy Story Cart and the title using Cuttin' Up.

Hope you enjoyed my layout! Thanks for looking!

Fun Layout!

While we were on vacation this summer on our Family Reunion, there was a Square Dancing Activity for families. We of course joined in on the fun! We played the Hokey Pokey to start it out!

I used this adorable paper from Hobby Lobby called Cowboy. I love the Yee haw on it! I added a cowboy hat cut from Toy Story Cart for my journaling. I also used red cardstock for the matting and journal.

Watching my mom and dad Hokey Pokey was a memory I will always have! So much fun!

Thanks for looking!

Retreat Layout-as promised

I went on my retreat this past weekend and had a blast!!!!! I got 24 layouts done! That's 48 pages people! Not my best, but I had some issues this time! My Cricut and Gypsy were giving me fits, so I spent the majority of my time trying to fix them!

I wanted to spend the next few posts on some of the layouts that I did. I really liked how one of my first layouts of the 1st night turned out.

I used a Christmas paper actually for the patterned background, lime green and maroon cardstock for matting and title. FancyPantsDesign tag with an added button for my journal tag. Family Frenzy was cut using Storybook Cartridge. I used magic mesh to accentuate the title.

I really like the pics the best....these were all pictures from our family reunion this past summer. We had such a great time!

Thanks for looking!

Retreat Cuts Part Deux!

Here is the other cut I made for the Retreat Cut Swap! I can not wait to see what everyone else did as well!!!
I used the Gypsy Font cartridge. Cut out on white paper, pulled it through my Xyron to make it a sticker and covered it with glitter (of course!). I added the rhinestone for super glitz!

I am super excited about my retreat this weekend and I plan to post some great layout shots! Thanks for looking!

Retreat cuts

Hello! I am going on a retreat this weekend to scrapbook and I am participating in a Cricut cut swap! Each person picks 2 cuts to cut and then cuts enough for the people participating. By the time the swap is over you have all new cuts done for you! Love it! I chose this cute bird from the Gypsy Wanderings cut on my Gypsy.
Of course I decorated it with glitter! You know how much I love it! I used white cardstock, the Gypsy cart and then green glitter! Super cute!

I will post my other cut later this week! Thanks for looking!

I promise....I have been busy!

Let me start off to say...I have been super busy...busy crafting!!!!! I have done so much these past couple of weeks! Some of it I had to be secretive though about!

First, I made this adorable wreath for our mantle for Valentine's Day! My friend had a craft night at her house, and although I had to miss it, she still gave me the flowers to create this cute wreath!!!

Here is the closeup!
It was super easy to make! My friend cut out the flowers using the Close to My Heart Cricut cart. The cuts started out flat...they looked like spirals. You then wound the spiral around a stick and take it off and voila! You have a flower! I then hot glued them to the base of the spiral, then hot glued them to just a basic twig wreath, stuck a bow and there you have it! Super cute wreath!

These next items I had created back earlier in January, but I couldn't show them! They were for a friend's daughter's wedding shower! Not that she might look at my blog, but I didn't want to risk it! I am so excited I can share now!

This is the card I made for the bride to be!!!! I used my new Texture Boutique to emboss the card, the brown flower was a left over cut I had saved (cartridge not sure). The cake is actually a stamp on patterned paper. The stamp is from Stamps of Life by Stephanie Barnard. If you have not checked her out, you must! I love, love, love her stamps!!! Can't you see why?

The next 2 pics were a recipe box I made for the bride. I was commissioned from the mother of the bride (my friend) to create a box to hold some recipe cards for the bride from all sorts of people at church, family, etc. She picked out the paper, but then left the creativity to me!

The sides are decorated as well with more paper, ribbon and daisies. I used paper from Hobby Lobby and DCWV stacks. I just cut the paper, mod podged them to the box and added the daisies and kitchen sayings. I had a blast making it and plan to make others!

This last pic is of the gift I gave the bride to be! I got this idea on Pinterest.
I created this "cake" using washcloths, wooden spoons, spatulas, a whisk and measuring spoons. These were all things that I just seemed to run out of right away in my own kitchen or that I needed more of when we got married. I used rubber bands to keep the washcloths rolled up, used yarn to keep the rolled up washcloths all together in the layers, and then added pretty ribbon to showcase the "cake." This was so much fun to make!

So, I am keeping true to my promise and goals! I am crafting more, I just couldn't share what I had crafted just yet! I have a retreat to go to next weekend and I am only working on my book from our Colorado vacation. I should finish it! I can't wait to show off the pics! If you are new to my blog, check out my post on organizing for a retreat (Power Layouts). That is what I will be doing this weekend to get ready for the next! Wish me luck!

2012-More scrappin and more updatin!

I had promised to scrap what I had done over the Christmas break back in November. I did do some scrapping during the break, but I did not blog it! I have to got to get more focused! One of my "resolutions" this year is to Scrap more and also to blog it all! Keep me to it people!!!

The Image above was made with my Cricut Imagine! It was the first printed item I've made! I wanted something for our New Year's Eve party, so I made this to hang on the mantle! It was super easy to make! I only used the Imagine, white cardstock, black cardstock, notes eyelets and black ribbon! The font was Designer calendar.

Over the break I started working on my summer vacation book. We took a trip to Colorado this summer for a family reunion and had a blast! I took so many pics, I decided to just make a whole book of it!
I used Paper Studio Vacation stack and Summer Vacation Cartridge. Brown tag and blue brads.

I used the Mosaic Moments Grid paper to lay out the pics and make the cuts. I also used green cardstock and title was made by Jolee's.

I used a paper from a stack I've had for ages...not sure the company. The title was made using Cuttin' Up cartridge and snow flake using the Joys of the Season Cartridge. I made the border with a snowman border from Queen's and Co and embellished it with blue and clear rhinestones.

I also got a new toy! I got a Sizzix Texture Boutique Machine to do embossing. I wanted to add some depth to my cards, so this should do the trick. I also got some new stamps from the Stamps of Life by Stephanie Barnard. If you haven't seen her stamps, you should go to her website and check it out! http://www.stephaniebarnardstamps.com/index.htm. I love her stamps and she puts out a lot of neat videos too! Check it out!
This card was just blue cardstock I had laying around. The I used the Stamps of Life Stars4U stamp set and guava ink. Super easy, but super cute!!!!

Like I said before, I have a goal to keep up with this! Keep me to it! I hope you enjoyed my latest creations! Thanks for looking!
